Role Overview
SGR seeks a Mine Shift Supervisor located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, responsible for managing daily ore extraction operations at mining sites. This role emphasizes safe, efficient production feeding downstream refining and bullion manufacturing, and involves leadership of shift crews to uphold stringent safety and operational guidelines set by MIM.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee mining activities during assigned shifts, maintaining consistent ore extraction volumes and quality.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols including permit-to-work and use of personal protective equipment.
- Monitor production output to meet daily and weekly mining targets.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to reduce equipment downtime through proactive fault reporting.
- Guide and mentor junior employees and Saudi trainees to develop their operational skills.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with MIM rules and internal policies.
- Lead immediate responses and investigations for safety incidents or operational interruptions during shifts.
- Manage efficient consumption of explosives, fuel, and other resources to control costs.
- Coordinate with geology and processing departments to maintain ore quality aligned with refining requirements.
- Maintain precise documentation of production data, staff attendance, and safety observations for management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related technical field required.
- Minimum five years of mining operations experience, including at least two years in supervisory roles.
- Fluent in both English and Arabic to facilitate communication across teams.
- In-depth knowledge of MIM safety regulations and mining industry best practices.
- Experience with drill and blast operations in hard rock mining environments.
- Strong analytical capability to interpret production metrics and geological data.
- Willing and able to work rotational shifts in remote mining locations.
- Valid driving licence and physically fit for underground or open-pit inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in gold mining projects within Saudi Arabia.
- Familiarity with digital mine planning software such as Deswik or Surpac.
- Occupational health and safety certification like NEBOSH.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring Saudi nationals to support Saudization.

- Achieve zero lost-time injuries and 100% safety compliance during shifts.
- Meet or exceed 95% of monthly production tonnage and grade targets.
- Reduce equipment downtime by 10% through effective maintenance collaboration.
