We are looking for a Middle Distillate Trader to take full responsibility for physical trading operations focused on the Northwestern Europe/Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (NWE/ARA) and Mediterranean regions. This position offers the chance to contribute to a growing company engaged in dynamic cross-border commodity flows. You will be instrumental in enhancing commercial outcomes, extending market presence, and managing a profitable trading portfolio in a fast-evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and expand a physical trading portfolio targeting NWE/ARA and Mediterranean middle distillate flows, strategically optimizing positions and seeking new commercial opportunities.
- Conduct trading activities across middle distillate products such as gasoil, jet fuel, and diesel, structuring and executing deals across key European trading hubs.
- Develop and sustain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including suppliers, end-users, shipowners, brokers, and storage operators to broaden market access.
- Manage profit and loss, exposure, and risk in compliance with established commercial thresholds, utilizing paper markets for hedging and optimizing physical trade flows.
- Collaborate closely with operations, finance, and risk management teams to ensure transactions are accurately executed and processed efficiently.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years of experience trading middle distillates within Europe, preferably with emphasis on the NWE/ARA or Mediterranean regions.
- Documented success in P&L ownership, including profitable management and growth of a physical trading book.
- Well-established commercial relationships across suppliers, refiners, traders, and logistical service providers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of European supply chains, including flow, freight, and storage operations.
- Capability to function independently while supporting a broader commercial trading team.
- Fluent English skills are essential; proficiency in German is advantageous.
Culture and Benefits
- Competitive pay package complemented by performance-linked bonuses.
- Excellent prospects for career advancement within a multinational corporate structure.
- Experience working with diverse, international teams across multiple office locations.
- A flexible working atmosphere with opportunities for travel based on business demands.
- Additional benefits tailored to the location and company policies.
