Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated MEICA Project Manager to join our team based at our Head Office in Loughrea, County Galway. This role involves managing projects across South and Southwest regions, offering a rewarding salary package.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years' experience in a comparable role, ideally within the water and wastewater sector.
  • Possession of a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering, or alternatively in Environmental Science or Chemistry complemented by substantial field experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013; certification in Managing Safely for Construction Managers is advantageous though not mandatory.
  • Proficient in MEICA engineering domains covering mechanical process system installations, control panel and electrical setups, commissioning, and validation of processing activities.
  • Capable of negotiating financially with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, including final account settlements.
  • Experienced user of project management tools like Microsoft Project for creating and updating baseline schedules.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to independently adapt during project execution.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills paired with high motivation and a valid driver’s license.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively within a team to deliver multiple projects simultaneously, fostering a unified team culture.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability regulations on all sites.
  • Engage closely with clients, their representatives, and third-party agencies to maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Lead and manage all facets of the MEICA scope within construction teams.
  • Coordinate activities with other engineering disciplines including civil/building and process teams for cohesive project delivery.
  • Facilitate the role of PSDP for active projects, acting as PSCS on assigned sites and guaranteeing all required documentation is current and accessible.
  • Implement cutting-edge project management methodologies such as Lean Construction and Last Planner to optimize outcomes.
  • Track project progress, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential issues.
  • Deliver detailed monthly reports on project performance covering schedules, budgets, and HSQE metrics to the framework manager.
  • Lead procurement efforts for supplies and subcontractors ensuring timely deliveries within financial constraints.
  • Oversee project cash flows in conjunction with Contracts and Commercial Managers to facilitate prompt interim payment applications.
  • Mentor and train team members, setting clear development plans to nurture a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Contribute expertise towards tender assessments for potential new projects.
  • Address client and stakeholder concerns swiftly, collect client satisfaction data, and suggest improvements to enhance service quality.
  • Continuously seek to improve project delivery via lessons learned and innovative approaches for application in forthcoming assignments.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry standards and technologies through active professional development.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support organizational goals.
