Materials Controller - Transmission Line & Substation Relocation Project

Overview

Electrofax Engineering Services (GH) Limited invites qualified professionals to join as a Materials Controller for their Transmission Line and Substation Relocation Project based in Accra, Ghana. This role demands oversight of project materials and equipment to ensure efficient, accountable handling for seamless project operations.

Key Duties

• Receive, inspect, and document all project materials and equipment arrivals.
• Maintain precise inventory and conduct regular stock reconciliations.
• Monitor material stock quantities and facilitate replenishment when needed.
• Administer warehouse functions and storage facilities effectively.
• Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to synchronize material deliveries.
• Track usage of materials and prepare detailed consumption reports.
• Execute frequent physical stock audits and counts.
• Ensure materials, especially electrical and construction-related, are preserved properly.
• Detect, report and minimize losses, damages or discrepancies in inventory.
• Keep thorough records for traceability and accountability of materials.
• Assist in logistics planning and the coordination of transportation needs.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and project-specific inventory control protocols.
• Produce inventory status, utilization, and forecasting reports for management evaluation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Holder of at least a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience in stock control, logistics, materials management, or supply chain operations.
• Preferable experience in mining, construction, infrastructure, or power projects sectors.
• Skilled in using inventory management platforms and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Additional Requirements

• Experience with high-voltage transmission lines and substations (minimum 161kV preferred).
• Understanding of utility standards, engineering codes, and applicable regulations.
• Capability to work within multidisciplinary teams and at remote project sites.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering or project management software.
