Material Handler

Role overview

Ichor is looking for a proactive Material Handler to join its logistics function in Singapore. In this role, you will support the end-to-end movement of materials by handling receiving, storage, distribution, shipping, and order fulfillment. The position combines hands-on warehouse work with record-keeping and system updates to keep materials flowing accurately and on time.

Core responsibilities

• Receive goods from delivery vehicles, confirm the quantities delivered, and check for any damage or mismatches. Record and escalate any issues found.
• Identify the correct storage location from receiving paperwork and place items in the designated area so they can be retrieved easily later.
• Pick materials from storage based on orders and move them promptly to production or dispatch areas while keeping order accuracy in focus.
• Maintain clear documentation for all material movements, including receipts, storage, and distribution records.
• Prepare products and materials for shipment using suitable packing methods, and attach the required labels and paperwork.
• Carry out regular cycle counts to confirm stock accuracy and work with inventory control teams to investigate and fix variances.
• Use computer-based inventory tools to find materials and keep inventory information current and correct.
• Work under direct supervision and follow established procedures and instructions to ensure consistent handling practices.

Environment, safety, and improvement

• Take part in environmental, health, and safety initiatives and support company-wide EH&S activities.
• Report injuries, illnesses, near misses, spills, unsafe conditions, and emergencies to the supervisor without delay.
• Assess work activities for risk and take corrective as well as preventive steps when needed.
• Follow all EH&S rules, policies, programs, and regulations, and use the required personal protective equipment.
• Join audits and inspections whenever required and complete EH&S training sessions as assigned.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing waste, lowering cost, minimizing errors, and improving productivity.

Qualifications and requirements

• Education should be at least GCE N or O levels, or an equivalent qualification.
• Applicants should have 1 to 2 years of experience in materials handling or a similar role.
• Good understanding of inventory movement, storage, shipping, and packing practices is important.
• Ability to follow company safety requirements and work within set procedures is necessary.
• Competence with the tools, methods, and techniques used in materials handling is expected.
• Strong numerical ability is needed for counting, measuring, and checking quantities accurately.
• Familiarity with Oracle and Agile systems is an advantage.
• Must be able to lift and carry loads of up to 20 kg.
