Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) oversees three premier venues in South Australia: Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, and Coopers Stadium, in addition to managing events at The Drive. AVM hosts a diverse range of experiences from major conferences and exhibitions to concerts and sporting events, generating significant economic and social benefits for South Australia.
Role Overview
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is an exciting position suited for a recent graduate or early-career communications professional seeking practical experience. The role involves creating various types of content and supporting marketing efforts for South Australia's most notable venues and events. Day-to-day tasks vary, including producing social media content, drafting marketing copy, authoring team profiles, updating website assets, and assisting with digital campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, compose, and refine persuasive content across digital media, social channels, and internal platforms.
- Craft clear and compelling messages that engage both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in managing AVM’s websites, social media accounts, newsletters, intranet, and other digital communication tools.
- Uncover and highlight stories celebrating AVM’s staff, venues, events, and accomplishments.
- Support marketing and promotions for AVM-operated events, such as the acclaimed Cellar Door Fest series.
- Contribute to campaign performance tracking, surveys, customer insight gathering, and other communication-related activities.
- Offer administrative and project coordination assistance to the Marketing & Communications team.
Candidate Profile
- Excellent written communication, capable of producing engaging and audience-tailored content.
- Strong skills in copywriting, editing, and proofreading with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with content creation for digital platforms like websites, email marketing (eDMs), and social media.
- Passion for storytelling and spotting engaging content opportunities.
- Familiarity with social media management, content planning, and digital communications strategies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and acquainted with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, or email marketing software.
- Effective organizational and project management skills, handling multiple deadlines efficiently.
- Positive, proactive, and team-oriented attitude with eagerness for learning and skill growth.
- Possess a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or have 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in events, tourism, hospitality, or business events sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
