Role Overview
We are looking for a Manager or Senior Manager in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to be a pivotal, hands-on contributor within our corporate finance team. This role entails overseeing key financial forecasting, budgeting, and modeling activities, partnering closely with operations and accounting, and establishing the financial infrastructure vital for our global expansion. It is a high-impact position with direct interaction with executive leadership and involvement in important strategic initiatives including M&A and capital allocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, own, and continuously enhance comprehensive driver-based financial models covering consolidated forecasting, annual operating plans, and long-term strategic plans, including scenario analysis, sensitivity tests, and unit-economics evaluations to inform executive decisions.
- Leverage deep understanding of service industry economics such as utilization rates, billable capacity, project profitability, revenue timing, and the relationship between headcount and revenue.
- Manage end-to-end FP&A processes including data collection, analysis, and reporting while promoting standardization, automation, and reliable forecast cycles over ad hoc approaches.
- Communicate complex financial insights effectively to senior leadership through precise and actionable reports and presentations.
- Collaborate closely with Accounting to lead the monthly close process, including variance investigations, revenue reconciliation, and management reporting.
- Prepare materials for the Board, investors, and executives adhering strictly to public company disclosure standards.
- Work with operational and delivery leaders to convert operational data into financial outcomes and insights.
- Contribute to corporate development activities such as valuation, diligence, and deal modeling.
- Mentor finance analysts and support the advancement of FP&A capabilities within the organization.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; additional qualifications such as MBA, CPA, or CFA are advantageous.
- Possesses six or more years of increasingly responsible experience in FP&A for managers (eight or more years for senior managers), ideally within public companies or rapidly scaling technology or professional service firms.
- Experience in private equity, portfolio companies, or startups and high-growth sectors is a plus.
- Proficient in advanced financial modeling and Excel with familiarity in modern planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Pigment, Anaplan) and business intelligence tools preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in pricing, margin evaluations, and deal economics.
- Solid grasp of GAAP principles, revenue recognition standards, and SEC reporting requirements.
- A proactive operator capable of owning and building financial processes while maintaining a strategic overview.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to diverse audiences, including executives and those without finance backgrounds.
- Prior involvement in M&A or corporate development activities is highly valued.
Compensation
The salary for this role ranges between 190000 and 225000 Canadian Dollars annually, commensurate with experience, skill set, and qualifications. Equity participation may also be offered as part of the broader compensation package.
