Role Overview

The Manager of Learning & Development will design and scale employee and leadership growth programs to drive high performance and career development. This role involves shaping an organizational culture that values capability and accountability, ultimately enhancing business outcomes through effective learning strategies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the full Learning & Development (L&D) function by defining strategy, governance, operating model, and goals aligned with company KPIs.
• Build and grow a high-performing L&D team with clear ownership, curriculum standards, and measurable results.
• Enhance employee performance lifecycle by improving onboarding and manager enablement programs that accelerate productivity and retention.
• Develop and implement competency frameworks and manager development initiatives to increase leadership effectiveness and organizational accountability.
• Create and maintain a learning measurement system linking training to business metrics such as retention, performance, and productivity, coupled with executive reporting.

Key Competencies

• Proven experience in designing and executing enterprise learning functions aligned with strategic business needs in fast-growing, tech-oriented environments.
• Strong analytical skills to correlate learning programs with performance and retention outcomes, collaborating effectively with People Operations, Analytics, and business leaders.
• Expertise in organizational effectiveness, performance management, and manager development capable of coaching senior leadership and deploying scalable programs.
• Ability to lead transformative change and influence diverse stakeholders within dynamic organizations.
• Hands-on capability in training facilitation, curriculum design, and development of learning tools balanced with strategic leadership.
• Experience cultivating high-performing teams, establishing clear expectations, coaching, and ensuring the scalability of training programs.
• Data-driven approach to monitor and refine learning effectiveness through metrics and dashboards.

Experience & Education

• 10 to 12 years of progressive expertise in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or Talent Management, preferably in technology-driven or scaling environments.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Proven success in designing manager development, onboarding, and performance enablement programs focused on impactful business results.

Additional Information

• Location: Onsite at Skillz headquarters in Las Vegas, NV.
• Compensation: Starting total package including base salary and bonus is $128,000 per year.
• Travel: Required less than 10% of the time.
