Position Overview
Rodd Moncton Hotel is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Maintenance Person responsible for general upkeep and repairs across guest rooms, meeting spaces, breakfast area, pool, and other common facilities. This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, landscaping activities, and equipment repairs including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and laundry systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to organize and prioritize daily tasks ensuring timely preventive maintenance completion.
- Maintain the pool area ensuring it meets health and safety standards, keeping it clean, clear, and safe.
- Execute basic plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry work necessary for the hotel's upkeep.
- Conduct regular inspections, document findings, and maintain records related to facility maintenance.
- Carry out preventive maintenance throughout hotel buildings and surrounding grounds.
- Perform landscape care including lawn maintenance, trimming, debris clearing, and general groundskeeping.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with the General Manager and team.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest maintenance requests.
- Ensure walkways, entries, and work environments comply with safety protocols, encouraging others to adhere to all safety rules.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience in building maintenance.
- Proficient in painting, plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
- Knowledgeable in repair and upkeep of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems.
- Skilled in operating a wide range of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Self-driven with strong problem-solving abilities and efficient time management.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capacity to exert physical effort involving lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
- Flexible to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay at $17.00.
