Role Overview

The Line Cook position operates Monday through Friday from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm. This role involves coordination with Lead Line Cooks and requires versatility to work across multiple kitchen stations daily. Depending on staffing levels, the Line Cook is expected to collaborate with various leads within a single service period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals for 500 to 1000 guests daily within assigned kitchen concepts.
  • Manage labeling, organizing storage pans and deli items, and remove expired products from shared storage areas.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control and ensure cleanliness and safety standards as the Sanitation and Safety Champion in the BLV kitchen.
  • Ensure daily pack out temperatures meet standards, including final cooking temperatures for proteins, temperature checking items before packaging, re-heating hot items if necessary, and reporting to the Managing Chef.
  • Participate in daily deep-cleaning and uphold sanitary regulations and safety protocols.
  • Support the Executive Chef in production, pack out, and clean-up discussions and queries.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of operational systems alongside the Executive Chef.

Candidate Profile

  • Has 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in medium to high-volume full-service restaurants, clubs, or catering environments.
  • Possesses a culinary degree or equivalent qualification (preferred).
  • Demonstrates leadership by example in production, attitude, cleanliness, and punctuality.
  • Maintains exemplary safety and sanitation standards compliant with local Health Department regulations.
  • Works efficiently to optimize team productivity.
  • Remains calm and composed under pressure.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks such as vegetable preparation, protein cooking, and deep cleaning daily.
  • Understands and communicates effectively in basic English.
