  • Participate in pre-lift meetings and provide technical advice for critical lifts.
  • Ensure all lifting activities follow company and client requirements and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents related to lifting and suggest corrective measures.
  • Maintain thorough documentation including engineering calculations, inspection logs, and lifting registers.
  • Support procurement by reviewing technical specifications and bids for lifting equipment.
  • Engage in risk assessments such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for lifting tasks.
  • Mentor lifting supervisors and rigging personnel, including qualification and inspection coordination for riggers and rigging gear.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Professional engineering licensure is a plus.
  • Relevant lifting engineering certification is preferred.

Experience

  • Between 7 to 13 years working as a lifting engineer within oil & gas, offshore, marine, construction, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Background in handling heavy lifts, modular installations, offshore lifting, and crane operations.
  • Familiarity with client standards such as QatarEnergy, QatarEnergy LNG or comparable codes is advantageous.

Technical Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of crane load charts and performing lifting calculations.
  • Expertise with rigging hardware and lifting accessories.
  • Understanding structural responses during lifting procedures.
  • Knowledge of standards including LOLER, BS 7121, ASME B30 series, ISO 12480, API RP 2D (offshore lifting), and OSHA where applicable.
