Role overview
This opportunity is for a Licensing Officer at level 2 within Bristol City Council’s Licensing, Growth & Regeneration service. The post supports a broad licensing remit in a busy city setting and is intended for a confident, motivated professional who can operate across multiple licensing functions.
Licensing scope
The position covers the full range of licensing activity, including alcohol, entertainment, gambling, taxi and private hire, scrap metal, and sex establishment licensing.
What you will do
You will use your communication and analytical skills to collect information, prepare and present reports, advise licensing committees, support and guide apprentices, and handle complex enquiries from a range of stakeholders. The role also requires managing a caseload while maintaining a high standard of customer service and attention to detail.
Work location and setup
The role is based at 100 Temple Street, Redcliffe, Bristol, BS1 6AN. Bristol City Council notes that hybrid working is available for most roles, allowing a blend of home and office working depending on service needs.
