Law Clerk

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Law Clerk residing in New Jersey or New York to join Mullen Law Firm. This role is perfect for current law school students or recent graduates with excellent research and writing capabilities. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and fellow clerks to bolster trial preparation efforts by drafting legal documents and conducting detailed research.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft initial versions of legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct witness interviews, seek advice from legal experts, and liaise with clients to prepare for court cases.
• Maintain and organize case files ensuring all documents are current and deadlines are properly managed.
• Compile legal memoranda reflecting research outcomes to support trial strategies.
• Verify legal citations and authorities in briefs and other documents for attorneys and judges through intensive research.

Requirements

• Candidates must be residents of New Jersey or New York.
• Applicants should be current law school students or recent graduates with an undergraduate degree.
• Candidates aiming to sit for or who have passed the state bar exam are preferred.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills needed for effective participation in oral arguments.
• A robust work ethic with meticulous attention to detail is essential.
• One to two years of experience in a legal setting is required.

Compensation

The position offers an hourly wage between 25 and 40 USD, dependent on experience.
