Role Overview

Reporting to the Refinery Team Leader, this day-shift position involves occasional overtime including weekends and holidays. The laborer will independently and safely maintain area cleanliness within the Refinery and Packaging departments and support personnel as needed.

Key Duties

• Operate cleaning tools including power washers, mops, extension poles, shovels, rakes, pitchforks, brooms, and wheelbarrows to clean and transport waste materials and liquids.
• Use forklifts, man-lifts, and other heavy equipment, coordinating hand and foot controls simultaneously.
• Adhere to all company policies, employee handbook guidelines, and regulatory health, safety, and operational requirements.
• Complete all required trainings, safety courses, meetings, and certifications related to the position successfully.

Required Qualifications

• Must pass company-administered tests measuring basic and job-related skills, mechanical aptitude, and other relevant traits.
• Age 18 or older with a strong employment and disciplinary record.
• Physically capable and healthy to perform all essential job functions.
• Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking to understand instructions, communicate via radio, and maintain safety standards.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks, and finish any mandatory training or orientation.
• Obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hiring.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Approximately 80% of the time spent in enclosed areas with minimal ventilation, exposure to heights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, low light, and personal protective equipment such as hard hats, goggles, ear plugs, or full-body suits.
• Routine physical activities include climbing, kneeling, crawling, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and walking on uneven, slip-prone surfaces, and lifting or moving up to 55 pounds without assistance.
• About 20% of work occurs in confined spaces involving lock-out/tag-out procedures, artificial lighting, proximity to sharp machinery parts, and awkward postures.
