Kitchen Technician

About the Role

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, a distinguished luxury hotel merging authentic Arabian hospitality with over a century-old bespoke tradition, seeks a dedicated Kitchen Technician. Positioned at the Nation Tower, Corniche, Abu Dhabi, this role is central to maintaining the high standards of kitchen and laundry equipment, essential to the hotel's reputation for exemplary service and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in daily briefings and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Execute major and minor repairs and upkeep of kitchen appliances including hot cooking, refrigeration, and laundry equipment.
• Adhere strictly to preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, accurately documenting activities.
• Ensure all kitchen and laundry equipment are in optimal working order and comply with hygiene and safety standards.
• Coordinate and prioritize repair jobs to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Carry out troubleshooting and routine maintenance across restaurant, back-of-house, kitchen, and laundry areas.
• Maintain compliance checklists focusing on HACCP and hygiene standards within kitchen operations.
• Manage lighting maintenance for laundry and kitchen areas, including cold rooms and refrigerators.
• Record daily performance updates and follow-ups in designated log books.
• Support additional technical sections, especially electrical tasks, as needed, and cooperate with duty engineers to replenish consumables in the workshop.
• Order and manage inventory of spare parts and materials necessary for equipment maintenance.
• Participate in training sessions for new equipment and provide training to team members on safe and proper operation of kitchen machinery.
• Inspect commercial kitchen appliances for operational performance and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Kitchen Technician, preferably within hotel engineering or maintenance settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment is essential.
