Junior Scrum Master

About the Role

GuruSchools LLC invites applications for the position of Junior Scrum Master to be based in Dallas, TX, working remotely. This full-time contract opportunity suits recent graduates or professionals at the start of their careers with 0-2 years' experience. The position offers structured training, hands-on project exposure, interview preparation, and ongoing support to empower career advancement in Agile project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Assist the Product Owner in backlog prioritization and management.
• Guide Scrum teams to adhere to Agile and Scrum best practices.
• Identify and resolve obstacles hampering team productivity.
• Monitor sprint progress, maintaining Agile KPIs and reporting.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met on time.
• Champion continuous improvement and Agile principles within the team culture.
• Support release planning and manage sprint execution logistics.
• Track project risks and escalate issues appropriately.
• Document meetings, sprint reports, and other project material.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support release activities.
• Continuously update knowledge of Agile frameworks and Scrum methodologies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Up to 2 years of experience or foundational knowledge in Scrum or Agile settings.
• Basic grasp of Scrum frameworks and Agile project methodologies.
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience or familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Effective communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
• Capability to coordinate teams across different functions.
• Basic project management knowledge.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Scrum certification such as CSM or PSM is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively in a remote work setting.
