Junior Data Scientist

About the Role

We are actively looking for motivated Junior Data Scientists to join our expanding consulting team. This position is perfect for recent graduates or early career professionals enthusiastic about data science, machine learning, AI, and making data-informed decisions. The candidate must be willing to relocate to participate in a structured training program and client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, clean, prepare, and analyze both structured and unstructured datasets.
• Create and apply machine learning models to address business challenges.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to discover patterns, trends, and insights.
• Build predictive models and assess their effectiveness using appropriate statistical methods.
• Design and present data visualizations and dashboards to clearly communicate insights.
• Work collaboratively with data engineers, software developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to provide data-centric solutions.
• Enhance machine learning models for performance, accuracy, and scalability.
• Adhere to software development best practices such as version control and Agile methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, AI, or related technical fields.
• 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in data science, software development, analytics, machine learning, or a related discipline.
• Proficient programming skills in Python, R, SQL, Java, or comparable languages.
• Sound understanding of statistics, probability, linear algebra, and fundamentals of machine learning.
• Experience with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, or equivalents.
• Knowledge of database querying via SQL and familiarity with relational database and data modeling concepts.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or XGBoost is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and effective communication skills.
• Open to relocating to Atlanta, GA for paid training and traveling or moving as needed for client projects across the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience through internships, academic, or personal projects related to data science, machine learning, AI, or predictive analytics.
• Familiarity with visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with environments like Jupyter Notebook or Google Colab.
• Understanding of Agile or Scrum software development practices.
