Role Overview

This entry-level Graduate Data Engineer position is designed for individuals passionate about technology and aspiring to a consultation career in data engineering. The first year involves a structured training program blending formal education, mentoring, and practical engineering tasks, focusing on tools such as SQL, Python, Git, Databricks, Azure, and modern cloud data practices.

Responsibilities

Create and manage internal reporting systems that aid business and operational decision-making.
Develop and refine reusable engineering frameworks, templates, and acceleration tools.
Produce comprehensive technical documentation, standards, and guidelines.
Assist in building tools that enhance engineering quality and consistency in delivery.
Engage in learning data engineering best practices under expert mentorship and technical training.
Collaborate with senior data engineers to gain insights into cloud data platforms and current engineering methodologies.
Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Observe client workshops and consultancy activities.
Incrementally contribute to client projects as skills advance.
Continually expand expertise in Cloud, Data, and AI technologies.

Learning Opportunities

Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Git, Databricks, and Azure Data Services.
Training in data modeling, ETL/ELT engineering, and CI/CD basics.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Degree or anticipated degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
Between six to twelve months of practical industry experience gained through internships, placement years, or graduate schemes.
Basic proficiency in SQL and Python.
Strong analytical capacity and problem-solving aptitude.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Sincere interest in Cloud, Data Engineering, and AI technologies.
High attention to detail and a strong desire to learn continuously.
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Databricks platforms.
Experience with Git or similar version control tools.
Understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling.
Acquaintance with ETL/ELT processes.
Experience from university projects, hackathons, or independent learning endeavors.
