Overview
This is a permanent full-time position working remotely from Western Canada. Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS) deliver comprehensive rehabilitation assessment and interventions focusing on Canadian Veterans experiencing challenges transitioning to civilian life due to injuries or illnesses related to their service. The approach integrates biopsychosocialspiritual perspectives, coordinated by an interdisciplinary team managing complex conditions such as chronic pain, head injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, often coexisting with mental health issues and psychosocial barriers.
Role Summary
The Job Developer is tasked with initiating and nurturing partnerships with employers and community organizations to foster trusted collaborations. This role involves advocacy and education aimed at promoting the employment of Veterans within these organizations. Staying informed about labour market trends regionally, the Job Developer influences positive employment outcomes for Veterans at both individual and community levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support participants in their job search efforts by providing guidance, advice, and intervention to address existing or potential obstacles.
- Analyze employment trends and collaborate with Rehabilitation Support Staff to connect participants with suitable job opportunities.
- Expand and strengthen partnerships with employers and community agencies to build a diverse placement network enhancing participant outcomes.
- Coordinate with Job Development teams across multiple regions to maintain national and regional employer relations.
- Participate in employer forums advocating for the benefits of hiring Veterans and the value of PCVRS partnerships.
- Design and implement improvements to the job development process.
- Identify innovative strategies to enhance participant experiences and employment outcomes related to job placement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certification, diploma, or degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or Human Resources.
- Minimum of three years of combined experience in areas including job development, employment counseling, or customized employment services.
- Experience supporting individuals with complex musculoskeletal and mental health conditions or those facing barriers due to physical or mental health challenges.
- Comprehensive understanding of labour market dynamics within the designated region.
- Proficiency with digital tools such as Case Management Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, Internet platforms, and professional networking via LinkedIn.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships, build trust, and engage multiple stakeholders for mutually beneficial results.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours when necessary to support communications with employers and participants.
- Valid driver's license, dependable vehicle, and capacity to travel.
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining federal Reliability Status security clearance.
