Java Developer with Angular – Contract Role

Job Overview

A leading client in Limerick is seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong recent expertise in Angular (latest versions) for a 12-month contract position with potential extensions. The role involves hybrid work with only one day per week on-site presence in Limerick, joining a sizeable development team to work on complex legacy application migration and integration projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in mid-level Java development focusing on migrating complex legacy systems and collaborating on system integrations.
• Develop front-end applications adhering to Angular development standards.
• Analyze and design technical solutions aligned to business needs, including creation of functional specifications and user stories.
• Provide high-level and detailed task estimates for documentation governing project governance gateways.
• Implement new developments and enhancements consistent with coding standards and quality expectations.
• Conduct quality assurance of code and peer code reviews to uphold project standards.
• Plan and implement integration, system, and automation testing as necessary.
• Support development efforts and maintenance in system test environments.
• Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical capabilities.
• Coordinate system testing phases and manage live release processes.
• Assist project managers with all project management facets, including status reporting and risk management.
• Outline and forecast resource needs for projects or subteams.
• Monitor project progress, reporting variances and proactively identifying technical risks.
• Handle live incident management through root cause analysis, proposing permanent resolutions or workarounds.
• Track and organize bug tickets and monitor live issues across various systems.
• Collaborate with development and Continuous Service Improvement teams to apply necessary fixes and ongoing enhancements.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement appropriate initiatives.

Additional Information
