About Grove Collaborative
Grove Collaborative is a company dedicated to sustainability, offering household and personal care products that are designed to be effective, eco-friendly, and healthy for both consumers and the planet. As a certified B Corp and plastic-neutral company, Grove is committed to transforming the consumer packaged goods industry positively.
Role Overview
The Inventory Planner role focuses on maintaining optimal stock levels — ensuring products are available at the right time, place, and quantity. This role emphasizes leveraging AI-powered planning systems and analytical skills to manage replenishment effectively. The position involves managing inventory across two fulfillment centers within a high-velocity ecommerce environment with a large number of SKUs.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute demand-driven replenishment by analyzing sales forecasts and managing inventory purchases to meet sales, turnover, and in-stock targets using AI forecasting tools, while applying judgement to balance automated recommendations with manual adjustments.
- Maintain and configure supplier and replenishment parameters within planning and ERP systems, investigate forecast discrepancies, and enhance accuracy using data-driven refinements.
- Track and analyze inventory performance metrics, develop reports using Looker, Excel, and AI analytic tools, providing actionable insights beyond basic performance descriptions.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, suppliers, Billing, and Accounting to optimize aged inventory, ensure order fulfillment, and resolve invoicing or receipt issues.
- Manage the order process from purchase order submission through electronic confirmation and receipt, and advise on stock transfers between warehouses based on demand and fulfillment data.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing planning systems, improving data quality, identifying automation opportunities (e.g., anomaly detection, reorder automation, scenario modeling), and sharing successful practices within the team.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 4 to 6 years of inventory planning and procurement experience, preferably within direct-to-consumer or digital ecommerce settings, handling large SKU assortments and high velocity.
- Experienced with demand forecasting platforms such as Relex, Toolio, Anaplan, or similar, with an active interest in adopting emerging planning technologies.
- Demonstrates solid AI competency applied to inventory planning tasks such as demand sensing, automated replenishment, anomaly detection, and scenario modeling, with enthusiasm for advancing these capabilities.
- Highly skilled in advanced Excel; proficiency with Looker or comparable business intelligence tools is strongly preferred.
- Proven success in managing key inventory KPIs, including in-stock rate, inventory turns, weeks of supply, forecast accuracy, and reduction of aged inventory.
- Strong communicator able to translate complex planning data into clear, actionable advice for teams spanning Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and Operations.
- Self-motivated and proactive, continuously seeking the best tools and ways to improve processes as an integral part of the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience running inventory operations across multiple warehouse or fulfillment center locations.
- Knowledge of EDI workflows and ERP systems within physical product contexts.
- Familiarity with AI-driven scenario planning or large-scale automated exception management.
- Personal alignment with sustainability values and understanding of consumer motivations for choosing better-for-you products like those Grove offers.
Benefits and Work Environment
- This remote full-time position is available in a select group of states including California, Maine, Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Illinois, New York, Missouri, and Massachusetts.
- Comprehensive benefits including medical, vision, and dental coverage.
- Equity offerings to share in company success.
- Flexible Paid Time Off focused on results rather than hours.
- Exclusive VIP membership and a 50% discount on products.
- Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven company striving to make a positive environmental impact.
Compensation Details
The annual salary for this role ranges from $75,000 to $90,000, adjusted based on market-specific cost of living and candidate experience. Additional compensation includes eligibility for an annual incentive and equity participation.
