Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Patient Assistance Counselor III to aid patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or have limited benefits facing significant prescription and medical costs. This role involves guiding patients and healthcare providers through patient assistance programs, insurance coverage verification, financial evaluations, and application processing, all while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process patient assistance applications and review accompanying documents.
- Conduct thorough insurance investigations to verify coverage details.
- Evaluate patients' financial data to establish eligibility for programs.
- Communicate application statuses and results to patients and providers.
- Provide top-notch support through inbound and outbound calls.
- Address patient queries related to insurance coverage, eligibility, and program criteria.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation using internal systems.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Achieve required productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in insurance verification processes.
- Minimum 5 years of call center experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of managing multiple software systems and prioritizing duties effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive patient information confidentially.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Empathy and professionalism when working with patients.
Compensation and Benefits
This contract role offers an hourly wage of $23.80. Depending on eligibility and employment classification, benefits may include medical, dental, vision insurance, critical illness and accident coverage, 401(k) retirement plans, life insurance options, disability insurance, health savings accounts, transportation benefits, employee assistance programs, and paid time off including vacation and sick leave.
