Position Overview
This opportunity is for an Instructional Technologist based in the United States contributing to a major next-generation energy project. The role focuses on creating and improving training programs designed for plant personnel to ensure workforce readiness and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement structured training programs, processes, and procedures that comply with company standards and regulatory frameworks for a new training organization.
- Develop and maintain strategies supporting both initial accreditation and ongoing program effectiveness.
- Utilize the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology to create and refine high-quality educational curricula.
- Continuously update educational materials to incorporate plant design modifications, procedural changes, operational enhancements, and technical developments.
- Collaborate closely with management teams, emergency personnel, project partners, regulators, and internal departments to boost training outcomes.
- Develop robust assessment tools including exams, trainee evaluations, classroom and lab materials, on-the-job training aids, and simulator tests.
- Establish protocols for reviewing training effectiveness, counseling trainees, and customizing learning plans.
- Integrate external industry insights such as regulatory updates and operational experiences into training content.
- Support readiness efforts for regulatory inspections, accreditation reviews, audits, and compliance verifications.
- Maintain detailed training documentation, records, reports, and maintain audit preparedness.
- Provide assistance in departmental planning, goal setting, resource allocation, and budgeting activities.
- Foster a culture emphasizing quality, accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement within training operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, training, or relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in training development, instructional technology, or related domain.
- Background in designing training for technical or heavily regulated industries.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices for training development.
- Expertise in digital content creation and diverse training delivery methods.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent written communication, technical documentation skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with varied stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with commitment to producing precise, high-quality instructional materials.
- Adaptability in a dynamic work environment with evolving project requirements and priorities.
- Proven ability to enforce standards, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous enhancement.
