About the Role
State Street is seeking a dedicated Insider Threat Analyst to enhance its insider threat program. This pivotal role involves collaboration with Global Cyber Security, Global Security, Enterprise Continuity Services, and infrastructure teams to analyze and respond to insider threat risks, develop preventive controls, and protect the organization against sophisticated threats. The position demands strong technical acumen, quick decision-making skills, and a creative approach to safeguarding the company's assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate potential insider threat incidents and investigations.
- Gather, consolidate, and examine data from diverse sources to detect risk indicators.
- Assist senior analysts and partners in reviewing insider threat cases.
- Maintain detailed investigative records following established protocols.
- Draft reports, summaries, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the creation and updates of investigative procedures and playbooks.
- Engage in lessons-learned sessions and continuous process improvements.
- Escalate identified threats and concerns to program leadership as needed.
- Monitor and triage alerts from insider threat and behavioral analytics systems.
- Work collaboratively across departments including Cyber Security, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, and Global Security.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Basic knowledge of insider threat principles and risk identification.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to identify patterns, trends, and outliers in large datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience documenting investigative findings into formal reports.
- Team-oriented with eagerness to learn from experienced analysts.
- Familiarity with behavioral analytics, cybersecurity monitoring, or investigative workflows.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational aptitude.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related disciplines; equivalent experience considered.
- Two to five years experience in cybersecurity, investigations, intelligence analysis, fraud prevention, risk management, compliance, or similar fields.
- Preferred experience with security monitoring, case management, or ticketing tools.
- Exposure to insider threat detection, behavioral analytics, digital forensics, or cyber threat systems is advantageous.
- Understanding of investigative techniques, evidence management, and report composition preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, GIAC, Insider Threat Program, or other cybersecurity credentials are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role is $90,000 to $157,500, dependent on location and experience.
