Our global teams collaborate across disciplines including Information Architecture, UX/UI Design, Product Management, Content Strategy, Data, Engineering, Knowledge Management, Research, Accessibility, and Executive Leadership to build scalable digital ecosystems that boost usability, navigation, governance, and business results.

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Information Architecture Manager to lead the strategy and implementation of information architecture, taxonomy design, content frameworks, navigation systems, metadata models, search experience design, and information governance initiatives. This role requires translating complex business and user requirements into user-friendly, scalable structures across websites, applications, enterprise platforms, knowledge bases, and digital products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute information architecture strategies, frameworks, standards, governance models, and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals and user experience objectives.
  • Design taxonomies, ontologies, content hierarchies, navigation systems, metadata schemas, labeling systems, information models, and search architectures.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI Design, Product Management, Content Strategy, Engineering, Data, Research, Marketing, Accessibility, Knowledge Management, and Leadership teams to deliver unified digital experiences.
  • Conduct user research, content audits, card sorting, tree testing, usability studies, search analytics, stakeholder interviews, and information discovery assessments.
  • Develop enterprise information models supporting various digital platforms including websites, apps, intranets, knowledge bases, customer portals, and internal systems.
  • Establish content structures, metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, classification schemes, tagging frameworks, content relationships, and governance processes.
  • Lead navigation and search experience design encompassing global and contextual navigation, faceted search, filtering, sorting, recommendations, and discovery workflows.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation such as site maps, content models, taxonomy and ontology diagrams, user flows, navigation frameworks, and governance standards.
  • Work with Engineering and Data teams to implement structured information architectures, CMS, search platforms, APIs, databases, and knowledge systems.
  • Develop governance frameworks addressing ownership, classification, lifecycle, metadata quality, content standards, access control, archival policies, and change management.
  • Track KPIs including search success rate, findability, navigation efficiency, task completion, content reuse, taxonomy uptake, metadata quality, user satisfaction, and digital experience performance.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of information architecture, governance, search performance, taxonomy effectiveness, usability, and continuous enhancements.
  • Manage budgets, research resources, external consultants, technology vendors, taxonomy platforms, search solutions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Drive digital transformation with AI-driven search, semantic technologies, knowledge graphs, natural language processing, automated classification, intelligent recommendations, vector search, and enterprise knowledge management systems.
  • Utilize design and collaboration tools including Figma, Miro, FigJam, Lucidchart, Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager, Algolia, Elasticsearch, Azure Cognitive Search, Google Cloud, Microsoft 365, and Power BI to develop and assess information structures.
  • Prepare executive presentations, architecture evaluations, taxonomy strategies, governance reports, search dashboards, usability findings, roadmaps, and strategic recommendations for leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow teams of information architects, UX researchers, content strategists, taxonomy experts, UX designers, and diverse digital specialists while promoting a culture of user-centered design, clarity, collaboration, accessibility, and ongoing improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Information Science, Library Science, HCI, Computer Science, Digital Design, Knowledge Management, or related disciplines.
  • Master's degree in Information Science, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Information Architecture, Knowledge Management, or similar is highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications in UX Design, Information Architecture, Information Science, Content Strategy, Agile, or relevant fields are advantageous.
  • At least 5 years experience in information architecture, UX design, content strategy, knowledge management, digital product design, or search experience roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing information architecture programs, UX teams, taxonomy initiatives, content governance, or multi-disciplinary digital teams.
  • Strong grasp of information architecture principles, taxonomy, ontology, metadata, content modeling, navigation, search experiences, user research, usability, governance, and digital product design.
  • Experience using Figma, Miro, FigJam, Lucidchart, Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager, Algolia, Elasticsearch, Azure Cognitive Search, Microsoft 365, Power BI, and CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered search, semantic search, knowledge graphs, NLP, vector databases, automated classification, machine learning, intelligent recommendations, and enterprise knowledge systems is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, user research, stakeholder management, strategic planning, project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple initiatives considering user needs, business goals, technical constraints, accessibility, governance, scalability, data quality, budgets, and timelines.
  • Capability to operate efficiently in a remote environment coordinating distributed UX, product, engineering, content, data, research, and technology teams; occasional travel for workshops, meetings, conferences, and planning as needed.

What We Offer

  • Complete remote work with flexible collaboration across global UX, product, technology, content, data, and knowledge management teams.
  • Competitive salary package including performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development in information architecture.
  • Exposure to AI-driven search technologies, semantic tools, knowledge graphs, intelligent content systems, advanced UX research methods, and next-gen information management platforms.
