ജോലി വിവരണം
About the Role
AdventHealth is seeking an Infection Preventionist to support a mission-driven care environment in Tampa, Florida. This position focuses on strengthening infection prevention and control practices, improving safety outcomes, and supporting the organization’s broader commitment to whole-person care.
The role involves using surveillance tools and reporting systems to maintain accurate data and meet regulatory requirements. You will work with internal stakeholders and outside partners, including public health representatives, healthcare coalitions, and vendors, to improve infection prevention performance.
What You’ll Do
You will help lead the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program and support its ongoing improvement in line with quality and safety objectives. The work includes monitoring compliance, applying epidemiologic methods and statistical analysis to identify patterns, clusters, and outbreaks, and reviewing the effectiveness of surveillance systems so plans can be adjusted based on outcomes and benchmarks.
Additional responsibilities include conducting facility rounds, audits, and IPC assessments; spotting issues in cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization; and sharing practical feedback that supports corrective action. You will also design and deliver infection prevention education tailored to the audience, advise interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to risk reduction and quality improvement using data-driven insights.
The position also calls for detailed risk assessment work, development of measurable action plans, participation in performance improvement efforts, and collaboration with antimicrobial stewardship initiatives. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. You should be comfortable handling confidential information, organizing priorities, and managing your workload effectively.
Strong communication skills are important, along with the ability to apply evidence-based guidelines, manage conflict, negotiate when needed, and support projects or programs from planning through execution. The role also requires skill in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data, preparing reports, and using computer systems, software tools, and diagnostic technologies. A consultative approach and the ability to provide practical resources and support are also important.
Education and Experience
An associate degree is required, while a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Relevant fields include health science, healthcare delivery, public health, laboratory science, or a related discipline. An advanced degree or internship experience may be accepted in place of some experience.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, infection control, or public health. Infection Control Certification (CIC) is preferred.
