Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to spearhead the creation and execution of a practical compliance framework aligned with the EU Pay Transparency Directive. This temporary role, based onsite in Galway for six months, can be either full-time or part-time. The specialist will collaborate closely with HR teams and organizational stakeholders to enhance grading systems, recruitment, pay progression, and governance policies to ensure consistency and transparency throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a compliance framework supporting clients' adherence to the EU Pay Transparency Directive, integrating organizational competency and capability standards with broader HR goals.
  • Collaborate with HR and other relevant parties to assess and align existing grading structures with responsibilities, competencies, and capabilities, promoting uniformity and openness.
  • Evaluate current recruitment, pay progression, and equal pay governance policies and procedures to develop updated documentation fostering transparency and compliance.
  • Determine necessary organizational, policy, governance, and operational measures for directive implementation, considering legislative mandates, company priorities, and best practices.
  • Analyze risks, dependencies, and resources associated with implementation and provide actionable recommendations for compliance, monitoring, and governance.
  • Develop strategies for communication and stakeholder engagement to increase awareness and understanding of pay transparency requirements within the organization.
  • Create comprehensive frameworks, supporting documents, guidance, templates, and recommendations to aid clients in implementing and maintaining compliance with the directive.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a relevant third-level qualification (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, Organisational Development, Reward Management, Industrial Relations, or related fields.
  • Professional credentials, specialist knowledge, or training in areas such as equal pay, job evaluation, reward management, gender pay gap reporting, or employment legislation are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in HR, reward, organizational development, workforce planning, job evaluation, equality, governance, and/or employment policies, with a sound understanding of pay and reward systems in complex organizations.
  • Familiarity with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and associated legal compliance requirements, with proven ability to help organizations prepare for legislative updates.
  • Skilled in interpreting legal and policy requirements and translating them into practical frameworks, governance structures, policies, and implementation tactics.
  • Expertise in developing and applying competency, capability, and grading frameworks, aligning organizational roles, responsibilities, and workforce capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities, able to work effectively with HR teams, management, and senior leadership to meet organizational aims.
