Role Overview
Based in the New York City headquarters, the Human Resources Business Partner supports approximately 120 employees across corporate functions like Finance, Legal, and IT. This generalist role involves acting as a trusted internal consultant for employees and managers, ensuring timely and accurate execution of core HR functions within a dynamic global retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hiring managers to manage end-to-end recruitment including job description creation, job postings, candidate pipeline management, screening, and interview coordination.
- Provide guidance on interviewing best practices and equitable candidate selection.
- Monitor and report on recruitment metrics such as requisition status and time-to-fill.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle for NYC-based staff including onboarding preparation, orientation sessions, milestone check-ins, and offboarding processes with compliance adherence.
- Support workforce planning by maintaining accurate headcount reporting, and facilitate performance management cycles including calibrations, compensation, and promotion proposals.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee relations issues, conducting investigations with discretion and partnering with legal and senior HR to resolve concerns.
- Respond to employee and manager queries on policies, benefits, leave, and compensation, ensuring consistent policy enforcement and escalating risks as needed.
- Maintain data accuracy in HRIS systems, generate people analytics reports, coordinate compliance training, and assist with HR events.
Qualifications
- 6-8 years of progressive HR generalist experience, preferably supporting corporate functions.
- Experience in retail or consumer-facing sectors and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, globally oriented environment.
- Strong knowledge of New York state and federal employment laws and HR compliance.
- Demonstrated expertise in employee relations and full-cycle recruiting.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
- Analytical skills for data retrieval, discrepancy detection, and clear reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency with MS365 (Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday or SuccessFactors preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline; HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary ranging from $125,000 to $133,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
