HSE Coordinator

Job Summary

• Arrange and prepare all necessary Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) logistics such as fire boxes and coordination tag boards before the vessel arrives, and secure these assets after completing the vessel refit.
• Conduct atmospheric gas tests for all confined spaces following mandatory safety requirements.
• Confirm emergency equipment onboard the vessel is fully operational and ready for use.
• Perform routine inspections of all work activities occurring on the vessel to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to all conditions specified within the Permit to Work system.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily safety inspections on assigned vessels and nearby work areas to uphold mandatory and company safety policies.
• Engage with the workforce to promote safe working behaviors, as well as programs aimed at accident prevention and fire safety.
• Respond actively in emergencies, performing firefighting, personnel rescue, and pollution control activities.

Key Requirements

• Experience preferred in shipbuilding and ship repair sectors with knowledge of associated safety protocols.
• Background in emergency response and firefighting is essential.
• Must be physically fit and in good health to meet the demands of the role.
• No computer skills are required for this role.
• Willingness and ability to work shift schedules as required.

Education

Completion of Trade School in relevant fields is required.
