About the Organization
Al Quaa Kindergarten is an early childhood education center based in Al Ain, providing a safe and stimulating environment where young children can develop curiosity, social skills, and basic academic abilities. The institution prioritizes collaboration with families and the local community while encouraging faculty to use creative, research-based methods to enhance learning.
Role Overview
The History Specialist will craft and implement engaging history-focused learning experiences for kindergarten children. Responsibilities include designing lessons centered on storytelling, simplified timelines, and age-appropriate historical themes. The specialist integrates elements of American history and diverse cultural content into activities, ensuring alignment with the broader curriculum in cooperation with classroom teachers. Observing student progress, adapting lessons for different learning needs, and training staff to incorporate historical subjects are key tasks. This position is full-time with a hybrid working model involving regular presence on-site at Al Quaa Kindergarten and remote work for planning and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent communication skills suited to conveying complex concepts in an accessible, engaging manner for young children.
- Educational background with experience or training in early childhood teaching or instructional support.
- Strong understanding of American history along with other relevant historical and cultural knowledge foundational for early learning.
- Ability in research and staff training including creating educational materials and enhancing professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Education, Early Childhood Studies, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with young children, ideally in kindergarten or early primary school settings.
- Capacity to develop inclusive, culturally sensitive content and foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere.
- Good organizational skills, dependability, and comfort with a hybrid work schedule combining site-based and remote duties.
