Overview
Wellington Free Ambulance is the sole emergency ambulance provider for Greater Wellington and Wairarapa. Our vision is to be a trusted ambulance service delivering excellence in emergency response and connected healthcare services to enhance community health. Beyond emergency care, we provide patient transfer services, operate a Clinical Communications Centre answering 111 calls, offer event medical support, and promote community CPR training through The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat Programme.

The Lloyd Morrison Foundation Heartbeat Programme
This vital initiative delivers free CPR and AED training to communities across our region, enabling bystanders to improve survival chances from sudden cardiac arrest. Data shows that 69% of cardiac arrests happen at home and bystander CPR and AED use dramatically enhance survival rates.
Role Summary
The Heartbeat AED Manager will lead the sales, distribution, and upkeep of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across Greater Wellington, Wairarapa, and nearby areas. Acting as the main liaison for customers purchasing AEDs, this role involves managing enquiries, collaborating on marketing efforts, maintaining customer records, and partnering with the Heartbeat Training Manager as a program ambassador.
Responsibilities
- Locate and engage organisations and community groups interested in acquiring AEDs
- Oversee Wellington Free Ambulance's distributor partnership with Stryker
- Assist with tender processes and proposals for large-scale AED contracts
- Manage all aspects of the AED sales cycle including client communication, stock management, assembly, site visits, and invoicing
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven substantial experience in sales or account management
- Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities
- Strong relationship-building aptitude
- Experience in marketing and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Background in health, first aid, or cardiac care is highly beneficial
- Possession of a valid, clean full driver’s licence
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, occasional work during evenings or weekends may be necessary.
