Head of Performance, Strategy

Role Overview

This senior leadership position is focused on driving the Group Retail strategy by transforming enterprise-wide objectives into actionable plans with an emphasis on financial performance enhancement, especially balance sheet efficiency and productivity improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead communication and engagement of Retail strategy to ensure senior leaders and functional teams are aligned and informed clearly.
• Translate sophisticated financial and strategic ideas for various stakeholders ensuring comprehensible discourse.
• Identify and implement productivity enhancements through structural efficiency improvements and process re-engineering within Retail functions.
• Create and maintain metrics to evaluate the impact and progress of these initiatives.
• Spearhead cross-department initiatives to boost profitability, capital utilization, and strengthen long-term balance sheet health.
• Drive financial optimization efforts relating to revenue growth, margin improvement, cost management, operating leverage, and capital efficiency.
• Analyze and oversee retail balance sheet aspects, including assets, liabilities, liquidity, and capital, aligning them with business objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business; MBA or professional credentials such as CFA, CPA, or CA highly desirable.
• At least 18 years’ experience in banking or financial services focusing on financial strategy, performance management, treasury, capital markets, or balance sheet oversight.
• Comprehensive insight into banking financial statements including profit & loss, capital, liquidity, and funding.
• Strong capital markets expertise and balance sheet optimization skills, able to interact effectively with Finance, Treasury, and Global Markets teams.
• Track record of successfully managing strategic initiatives at the enterprise or group scale delivering measurable financial, productivity, and capital results.
• Exceptional senior stakeholder management capabilities and experience engaging with top-tier leadership within diverse business units.
