Job Overview

This full-time role based in Monrovia, Liberia, involves maintaining Church facilities to provide places of worship, teaching, prayer, and sacred ceremonies that reflect reverence and dignity to the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve complex facility maintenance issues independently, considering cultural and linguistic factors.
• Lead teams or projects within various security-related functions or specialize in a particular security area.
• Communicate effectively and persuasively with internal departments and external organizations.
• Operate under moderate to high personal risk in challenging, potentially hostile environments, accepting associated legal and reputational responsibilities.
• Take the initiative in tasks and empower others to succeed in accomplishing their duties.
• Collaborate closely with the Church Security Department, offering localized security guidance, training, and support to leadership.
• Maintain professional networks with law enforcement, embassy staff, and NGO security managers to assist Church stakeholders as needed.

Candidate Qualifications

• CTC II or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building Construction, Electricals, or related fields.
• At least three years of practical experience in facility maintenance such as electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and deep cleaning.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to interact tactfully with church leaders, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Physical capability to climb ladders and stairs, crawl, bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead during maintenance tasks.
• Knowledgeable and safe in handling industrial cleaning chemicals and related machinery.
• Experienced in operating both manual and automatic tools and equipment to perform repairs.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, specialized software, web applications, internet usage, and wireless communications.
• Physically able to lift and move objects up to 23 kg independently.
• Comfortable using commercial-grade cleaning devices such as buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuums.
• Capable of working both independently and cooperatively, demonstrating professionalism and positive teamwork.
• Fluent in English for comprehension, communication, and training purposes.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions clearly and seek clarifications when necessary.
• Adherence to all chemical handling regulations.
• Willingness to work occasional irregular hours.
• Good health condition.
• Temple recommend worthiness required.
