Grocery Associate

About the Position

Join Walmart Canada as a Grocery Associate and gain valuable experience in a fast-moving retail environment. In this role, you provide outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart’s core values while ensuring the grocery department remains clean, orderly, and properly organized. You will support restocking and sales efforts to maintain a positive shopping atmosphere, making sure the store is always ready to serve customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and accurate zoning of the grocery area at all times.
• Conduct regular product rotation and remove expired or damaged items to ensure fresh and high-quality merchandise.
• Ensure correct pricing, signing, and inventory accuracy by adhering to established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, and labeling.
• Follow food safety protocols and sanitation standards to uphold a safe and hygienic environment.
• Stock merchandise efficiently, complete downstocking tasks when needed, apply product protection, and execute modular setups including flex modulars and new shelf caps.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free workspace.
• Adapt to various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands and ensure smooth store operations.

Challenges and Physical Demands

• Manage high workloads and overnight shifts effectively to remain focused and energized.
• Keep pace with a fast environment by completing large volumes of restocking and recovery accurately and on time.
• Perform physically demanding tasks involving prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items up to 20 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Execute repetitive tasks such as stocking and organizing with diligence to maintain store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $17.75.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
