Graphic Designer

Overview

We the Makers is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to join our team on a contract basis at our Getzville, NY location. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of relevant administrative and operational support experience in a corporate setting, preferably within financial institutions, along with advanced skills in industry-standard graphic design applications.

Responsibilities and Skills

• Utilize intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Apply intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Professional.
• Optional skills that would be beneficial include familiarity with MapInfo, Adobe Animate, Adobe Audition, and Blender.
• Understand external print processes to effectively manage print-related tasks.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Graphic Design or equivalent relevant corporate experience demonstrating required skills.
• Provide a portfolio showcasing recent design work.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, with strong emphasis on quality and accuracy.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborating effectively within a team.
• Able to thrive in fast-paced environments by managing multiple tasks and handling pressure efficiently.
• Exercise sound technical judgment for work assessment and prioritize requests effectively.
• Commitment to adhering to established processes, policies, and procedures.
• Show flexibility, enthusiasm, a desire to learn, and willingness to share knowledge within the team.
• Possess creativity alongside a solid grasp of fundamental graphic design and layout principles.
