Role Overview
The Grants Writer role, offered on a full-time remote basis, is pivotal to identifying potential funding avenues and crafting compelling proposals that resonate with the studio's mission and initiatives. Routine tasks include investigating potential funders, interpreting funding criteria, and managing a calendar marking grant deadlines. Writing and refining grant applications, concept notes, and supplementary documents fall under this role’s responsibilities. Coordination with project leaders to acquire precise program details and budgeting information is essential. The role also entails overseeing grant management duties, tracking submissions, reporting outcomes, and ensuring adherence to funder stipulations. Collaboration with leadership on fundraising tactics, cultivating relationships with grant issuers, and consistently enhancing proposal quality are critical functions.
Key Qualifications
- Proficiency in grant and proposal writing to produce persuasive, well-organized applications.
- Ability to conduct thorough prospect research to prioritize and evaluate grantmakers and funding options.
- Competence in grant administration including timeline management, documentation upkeep, and compliance enforcement.
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies to assist overall development plans and foster enduring funder connections.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and adaptability in tone for diverse audiences.
- Capability to work autonomously in a remote setting, juggling multiple deadlines, and collaborating effectively across teams.
- Background in arts, cultural, nonprofit, or social impact fields is advantageous.
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
