This position offers a rare opportunity to be deeply involved in building and scaling the app from the ground up, not merely maintaining legacy code. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and take ownership of backend systems, particularly the Postgres database and serverless functions managing subscriptions, payments, scheduled tasks, and third-party integrations.
• Contribute occasionally to the Flutter application frontend, linking backend changes directly to user-facing features for a full development lifecycle experience.
• Handle subscription billing workflows using Stripe, including managing trials, plan adjustments, cancellations, resumptions, and verifying data integrity through webhooks.
• Develop scheduled and time-critical logic such as cron jobs and state machines, while addressing related concurrency challenges.
• Design database schema, manage migrations, apply row-level security policies, and craft Postgres functions encapsulating business logic.
• Integrate payment, email, and push notification services, ensuring reliability of webhook communications.
• Build analytics processing pipelines to support live data reporting for business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a similar field; alternatively, a demonstrable project portfolio evidencing shipped software.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including constructing complex multi-table joins with aggregations and understanding transactional behavior and indexing.
• Basic practical knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript suitable for developing and debugging server-side functions immediately.
• Effective written communication skills to clearly articulate technical decisions.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to correctness, crucial for handling financial data robustly.

Desirable (Optional) Skills

• Experience or exposure to Supabase or Firebase platforms, even via academic or hobby projects.
• Familiarity with Flutter and Dart programming.
• Previous interaction with payments APIs such as Stripe or PayPal.
• Advanced Postgres knowledge including row-level security, triggers, and window functions.
