Geospatial Analysis Specialist

Role overview

This position is for a geospatial analysis professional who will contribute domain expertise to help improve and train modern AI systems. The role focuses on delivering accurate, high-quality real-world input that supports model learning, reasoning, and performance. Prior AI experience is not required; strong subject-matter knowledge is the key requirement.

Core responsibilities

• Create, organize, and support spatial databases while keeping data precise, consistent, and reliable across assignments.
• Run advanced geoprocessing and spatial modeling tasks in QGIS and turn the results into practical insights.
• Build, tailor, and upkeep QGIS plugins and extensions based on project needs.
• Use Python and PyQGIS to streamline geospatial workflows and make analysis more efficient and repeatable.
• Produce polished maps and other cartographic visuals for reports, presentations, and decision-making.
• Work closely with cross-functional teammates to interpret requirements and convert them into geospatial solutions.
• Explain technical geospatial concepts clearly in writing and speaking for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Required skills and qualifications

• Strong command of QGIS, including spatial database handling, geoprocessing, and map creation.
• Solid Python programming skills with practical use of PyQGIS to automate QGIS tasks.
• Clear understanding of map projections, coordinate reference systems, and data conversion processes.
• Ability to adapt QGIS through scripting or plugin development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience creating professional-quality cartographic outputs for different decision-making needs.
• Good organization and attention to detail when handling multiple priorities.

Preferred background

• Experience working remotely or in distributed teams with external clients.
• Exposure to other open-source GIS tools or cloud-based geospatial platforms.
• Work experience in spatial analysis for areas such as environmental science, urban planning, or resource management.
