Job Overview

The full-time Front Desk Receptionist role at our Cape Coral office involves oversight of front desk operations. You will supervise receptionist staff to ensure professional patient greetings, telephone communications, and clerical functions, facilitating smooth patient flow and coordination with clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly receive and assist patients in person and via telephone, explaining services, payment options, and billing policies.
  • Schedule appointments and direct walk-in patients and emergencies following established guidelines.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls appropriately.
  • Register patients according to protocols and collect necessary documentation.
  • Prepare required patient documents and ensure complete documentation.
  • Verify patient insurance or agency coverage and calculate patient charges.
  • Collect deposits, copays, and deductibles before patient appointments, issuing receipts as needed.
  • Inform patients of outstanding balances and collect payments accordingly.
  • Collaborate with providers and medical assistants to minimize patient wait times.
  • Contact patients to remind them of appointments and follow up on no-shows daily.
  • Report patient concerns or complaints to the clinic manager or a designated person.
  • Maintain alertness and visual/auditory sharpness throughout the workday; ability to sit, stand, and move continuously.
  • Refer patients who missed appointments to clinic managers for follow-up per policy.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Utilize computers and Microsoft Office applications proficiently.
  • Understand community-based organizations and support Elite DNA’s mission statement.
  • Bilingual skills preferred, with fluency in Spanish advantageous.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training accepted as an alternative.
  • At least one year of relevant medical office experience preferred.
  • Friendly demeanor with a strong desire to serve the public compassionately.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 15 pounds as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to focus on assigned duties.
  • Proficient in operating office equipment and able to type at least 35 words per minute.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across face-to-face, phone, email, and written communications.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and triage procedures is important.
  • Respectful and effective interaction with individuals regardless of ethnicity, religion, or socioeconomic status.
  • Commitment to upholding dignity in healthcare for all patients.
