Key Responsibilities
- Sort pallets moving from loading docks to designated sorting areas, assessing and ensuring pallet quality while removing any debris or trash.
- Operate forklifts proficiently to transport pallets, containers, and materials around the facility, including positioning forks and lifting platforms appropriately.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report any issues promptly to maintenance.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks or containers securely, lifting up to 40 lbs and exerting force up to 31 lbs/feet when pushing or pulling items.
- Adhere strictly to safety policies, wear required personal protective equipment, and promptly report hazards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in fast-paced industrial or warehouse environments with industrial equipment operation.
- Demonstrated skills in forklift operation within manufacturing or warehouse settings; valid forklift certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to forklift operations.
- Effective communication abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams while managing time efficiently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing work conditions, alongside strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Hand-eye coordination and proficiency in handling tools.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Physical capability to lift and carry weights up to 40 lbs and apply force up to 31 lbs/feet during tasks.
- Work environment includes warehouse or manufacturing settings with exposure to noise, dust, and variable temperatures.
- Standing for extended periods during shifts is typical; personal protective equipment is mandatory.
Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits
- Overnight shifts from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
- Starting wage is $18.00 per hour plus a $1.50 shift differential, totaling $19.50 per hour.
