Overview
The Food Services Supervisor role involves orchestrating teamwork to deliver outstanding guest experiences while maintaining impeccable standards in operations and staff appearance. The position requires overseeing daily setup and closing activities, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and organization in dining and storage areas, and monitoring guest seating and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support staff to achieve seamless service and fulfill guest requirements efficiently.
- Inspect staff grooming and attire; address any issues promptly.
- Handle opening and closing procedures, including arranging supplies, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in storage, adhere to FIFO inventory methods, and ensure supplies are adequately stocked through scheduled inventories and requisitions.
- Supervise the dining area for seating availability, safety conditions, and guest comfort.
- Initiate work orders for maintenance issues.
- Assist management with recruitment, training, employee scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Act as a role model and serve as the initial contact point for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, and safety and security standards; report accidents or unsafe conditions promptly; complete mandatory safety training and certifications.
- Maintain professionalism in uniform and personal appearance while protecting company assets and confidentiality.
- Greet guests warmly and according to company protocol, anticipating and responding accurately to their service needs, also attending to guests with disabilities.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and guests; develop positive relationships and support team objectives.
- Preserve quality standards by identifying opportunities for improving productivity, safety, cost-efficiency, and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking during entire shifts; lifting and maneuvering objects up to 50 pounds; navigating confined spaces; climbing stairs and ramps; and performing tasks involving bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as required.
- Carry out additional duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certification (G.E.D.).
- At least two years of relevant experience in food services.
- A minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity.
- No specific licenses or certifications required.
