Team Mission
The Financial Operations team ensures the delivery of accurate, comprehensive, and timely financial and operational data to leadership, regulatory entities, customers, and stakeholders. The team focuses on optimal asset use, risk mitigation, and strict regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee risk management for back-office operations, including maintaining rigorous controls over customer and company cash, suspense accounts, and exception management.
- Conduct daily trust and custody calculations adhering to the strict 12:00 PM SGT deadline, complying with the Securities and Futures (Licensing and Conduct of Business) Regulations (SF(LCB)R).
- Handle automated receipt of MT940 (Swift) messages and API data, extract customer ledger balances, and retrieve statements from trust banks and sub-custodians.
- Reconcile securities quantities against sub-custodian statements, verifying absence of any liens or encumbrances on client assets.
- Continuously monitor financial resources to ensure compliance exceeding Total Risk Requirement (TRR) thresholds.
- Prepare and file quarterly reports through the MAS-Tx portal, including Form 1 (Assets & Liabilities), Form 2 (Financial Resources & TRR), and Form 7 (Aggregate Margin Exposure).
- Collaborate extensively with Corporate Accounting, Treasury, RHS Clearing, and Engineering teams to support system upgrades, report automation, and cross-training across global reporting functions.
Candidate Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of MAS Risk-Based Capital frameworks, SF(LCB)R mandates, and capital requirements associated with broker-dealer regulation in Singapore.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant financial operations or regulatory reporting experience within broker-dealer firms or financial institutions in Singapore.
- Proficiency managing back-office ledger systems and processing Swift/API data streams; familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets and advanced data tools like SQL or Superset is beneficial.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment while managing critical regulatory deadlines, particularly delivering by 12:00 PM SGT daily.
- Strong communication capabilities with proven effectiveness in stakeholder engagement across multiple international time zones.
