Role Overview and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Finance Assistant (Assistant Accountant) to join our expanding team based in Dublin 9. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, your role will focus on supporting daily financial operations and collaborating extensively with Sales & Marketing, Operations, as well as acting as a vital communication point for vendors and clients.
- Assist with preparing and submitting monthly management reports to the Group.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, including detailed analysis, investigation, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensure precise recording and posting of banking transactions and all relevant financial journals.
- Support the Finance Manager during the annual audit process.
- Review and process expense and mileage claim approvals.
- Handle supplier invoice processing and organize payment schedules.
- Manage customer credit control and oversee the credit insurance procedures.
- Submit VAT and EC sales listings to the Revenue Online Service (ROS).
- Carry out business administration tasks including maintaining and assisting with contract renewals related to company vehicle fleets, utilities, and other indirect expenditures.
- Engage in various ad hoc financial projects and prepare related reports as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Holding AAT certification or an equivalent qualification, with aspirations to advance further in accounting credentials; CIMA qualification is preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar finance role is essential.
- Familiarity with SAP or comparable ERP software is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as XLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tables.
- Excellent communication abilities, a collaborative mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
