Role Overview
We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our Financial Shared Services team at Sydney Olympic Park. This pivotal role involves transforming financial data into actionable insights by managing major customer payment claims, conducting thorough reconciliations, and delivering forecasting and reporting pivotal for senior leadership, including the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of major customer payment claims from preparation to timely submission backed by comprehensive documentation.
- Collaborate with customers to ensure efficient collection of payments and resolve complex account reconciliations and commercial discrepancies, reducing credit risk.
- Serve as the primary contact for invoicing on complex accounts, overseeing aged trial balance reviews and formulating KPIs and targets for the accounts receivable team.
- Analyze payment behaviors and trends, providing data-driven recommendations to influence strategy.
- Partner with the Debt Recovery team to address and escalate at-risk accounts promptly.
- Generate and analyze reports and forecasts supporting executive decision-making, contributing to continuous improvement and system transformation efforts.
- Foster robust relationships within and outside the organization, embedding a culture centered on customer and shareholder value.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven financial expertise with formal qualifications or equivalent experience, including roles in finance, reporting, credit, or collections.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, data analytics, and visualization tools such as Power BI and Power Query, with meticulous attention to data accuracy.
- Experience implementing AI and automation to streamline processes and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to convert complex financial data into understandable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Efficient, detail-oriented, and capable of working under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with ERP systems like D365, SAP, Oracle, and AR platforms, preferably within a financial shared services environment.
- Background in construction, property, waste, or recycling sectors is advantageous.
