Role Overview
This position operates within a continuous 24/7 framework requiring exceptional flexibility, with workdays distributed over all seven days, including weekends, early mornings, overnight shifts, and on-call duties according to project demands. The Field Operations Lead assumes accountability for guiding and managing warehouse operations, logistics, asset oversight, inventory control, repair functions, and on-field support activities.
As an integral part of the Managed Services team, this role guarantees efficient management of storage, transportation, deployment, upkeep, repair, and asset lifecycle processes, supporting the successful execution of customer and operational services.
The incumbent will deliver direct leadership to warehouse personnel, logistics staff, repair teams, and field operation units across multiple sites. Responsibilities include overseeing staff, suppliers, resources, protocols, systems, and service partners, ensuring readiness, equipment availability, optimized inventory and logistics, while fulfilling service commitments and operational targets.
Key Duties
- Supervise and lead warehouse, logistics, repair, and field support operations.
- Manage teams composed of warehouse technicians, logistics workers, and field staff.
- Control receipt, storage, dispatch, returns, and inventory matters.
- Coordinate asset delivery, collection, transportation, and transfers.
- Oversee asset and equipment lifecycle management.
- Handle repair, testing, refurbishing, and redeployment processes.
- Prioritize repair workloads and manage queues based on operational demands.
- Organize field service tasks and engineer dispatching.
- Create and maintain shift rotas and staffing schedules.
- Generate operational, inventory, logistics, and performance documentation.
- Promote operational excellence, quality of service, and continual enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, governance frameworks, and health & safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a full, clean Irish driving license.
- A minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in operational, field service, logistic, warehouse, asset management, maintenance, or service delivery teams.
- Proven ability managing operational teams in sectors like telecommunications, transportation, utilities, engineering, manufacturing, or managed services.
- Strong skills in people leadership, including recruitment, performance evaluation, coaching, workforce planning, and team growth.
- Experience overseeing shift-based operations, on-call setups, rotas, and coverage within a 7-day service model.
- Expertise in managing operational workflows, service backlogs, field activities, maintenance planning, and resource distribution.
- Background in inventory control, asset lifecycles, warehouse and logistics management.
- Coordination of equipment installation, maintenance, repair, replacements, and readiness efforts.
- Technical familiarity with electromechanical assets, fault diagnosis, repair collaborations, and maintenance.
- Supporting operational tests, validations, service acceptance, change implementation, and deployment activities.
- Managing third-party suppliers, contractors, and service providers according to SLAs and operational goals.
- Strong analytical skills including generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports and KPIs.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder interaction, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective organisational, planning, and prioritisation capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise systems such as work, asset, and service management platforms.
Technical and Operational Expertise (Preferred)
- Experience with technical field assets, electro-mechanical equipment, electronic devices, or operational technology environments.
- Understanding maintenance, fault analysis, hardware replacement, repair workflows, and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of firmware upgrades, device configuration, software deployment, and remote management.
- Ability to coordinate maintenance involving circuit boards, communication gear, power systems, and peripherals.
- Support for installation, repair, upkeep, and operational assistance of customer-facing equipment.
- Serving as liaison between field technicians, engineering, suppliers, and technical support for prompt fault correction and service recovery.

- Technical qualifications or equivalent operational experience.
- Experience in transport, telecommunications, utilities, logistics, engineering, or managed service sectors.
- Leadership of field operational or technical teams and service delivery functions.
- Management of warehouses, assets, logistics, inventories, or spare parts operations.
- Familiarity with Maximo, ServiceNow, or similar asset and service management platforms.
- Handling suppliers, contractors, and third-party providers against service agreements.
- Expertise in workforce planning, shift rotas, scheduling, and operational resource deployment.
- Experience in regulated, customer-centric, or mission-critical operational environments.
- Understanding ITIL service management and operational governance.
- Supporting service readiness, transitions, or mobilizations is a plus.
