About the Role
Summit Decommissioning Services, a division of Summit, an Earth Services Company, is recruiting an experienced Field Level Supervisor to lead field operations primarily based in Brooks, Alberta. This pivotal position involves overseeing pipeline and facility decommissioning and maintenance projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and organize daily on-site tasks, including managing tools, equipment, materials, manpower, plans, paperwork, and safety compliance.
- Provide continual training, guidance, and leadership to crew members, including labourers and truck lead hands.
- Maintain clear and effective communication between workers, management, and clients.
- Prepare and submit daily reports such as completion summaries, field tickets, safety meeting notes, and hazard identifications.
- Operate and mobilize equipment and tools as project demands require.
- Engage in hands-on support of various projects.
Work Environment and Schedule
The role demands the ability to work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and fast-paced project team under varied conditions including different terrains, weather, and potentially isolated locations. Work hours typically range from 10 to 12 hours per day, with shifts varying from Monday to Friday or rotations of 24 days on followed by 6 days off.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least 8 years of direct experience in pipeline and facility abandonment or maintenance services.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (non-negotiable).
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience operating relevant equipment.
Preferred Additional Skills and Certifications
- Technical diploma in engineering or equivalent credentials.
- Current certifications in H2S, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, and related safety courses.
