Facility Management Caretaker

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of communal areas according to a scheduled plan.
• Conduct regular health and safety inspections in communal zones and address or report any concerns.
• Identify repair needs and hazards, coordinate and monitor repair works.
• Carry out landscaping tasks including grass cutting, hedge trimming, plant care, weed control, and minor planting.
• Liaise with external service providers as required.
• Perform minor repairs such as lock replacements, plaster work, painting, decorating, and carpentry.
• Manage domestic waste removal processes and cooperate with refuse contractors to ensure proper waste disposal, escalating issues when necessary.
• Report abandoned vehicles within schemes.
• Participate in role-specific training and promote the organization positively in all activities.
• Arrange skip hire and bulk rubbish removal when requested.
• Monitor vermin presence and coordinate vermin control with site management.
• Supervise service contractors and repair work quality.
• Perform checks on fire safety and security systems as directed, including lifts and phone entry systems.

Candidate Profile

• At least two years' experience in similar roles.
• Strong general DIY repair abilities.
• Competence in coordinating with external agencies concerning deadlines, costs, and quality oversight.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Valid full driving license.
• Knowledge and practice of manual handling.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards and procedures.
• Capability to prioritize daily tasks efficiently.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse individuals across various responsibilities.
• Team-oriented work ethic.
• Physical ability to handle labor-intensive tasks linked to the role.
