Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Possess thorough knowledge of the extrusion process including extruder and auxiliary equipment operations.
• Diagnose and resolve machine/process issues to ensure production of high-quality products.
• Operate or learn to operate and start the extruder machine efficiently.
• Prepare and verify materials required for production cycles.
• Maintain machine cleanliness adhering strictly to 6S guidelines, including proper disposal of plastic scraps.
• Set up the extrusion line as per assigned machinery requirements.
• Measure and inspect extruded tubing for specification compliance; identify defects and adjust controls for improvement.
• Ensure correct storage and packaging of tubing for downstream processes.
• Continuously monitor production line for potential defects or issues.
• Manage machine operations during breaks and handle scrap disposal effectively.
• Collect samples, conduct measurements using specialized equipment, and record data electronically.
• Adhere proactively to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) standards, cGMP, and other compliance protocols.
• Assume responsibility for the care and proper use of equipment and tools.
• Update production records promptly including Pitch Chart, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), MAR QDA, and A&P documentation.
• Support scheduled activities such as quarterly cleaning and machinery shutdowns.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational workflow.

Qualifications

• Educational background of NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.

Experience and Skills

• Prior experience or knowledge in extrusion or plastic processing is preferred.
• Familiarity with planned machine maintenance activities like cleaning and shutdowns.
• Basic computer literacy to support operational documentation and data entry.
• Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• High sense of urgency to escalate issues related to safety, process, or quality promptly.
• Ability to work independently and also collaborate well within a team environment.
• Proficient use of basic measurement instruments such as vernier calipers, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
• Skilled in troubleshooting process and equipment-related problems.
