Role overview

This position focuses on carrying out elevator and escalator installation work at customer sites. The job requires following the company’s installation methods and workplace safety rules while performing work according to established business policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Check delivered materials at the site against the purchase order to verify the shipment is complete and to identify any product damage.
• Prepare lists of missing, incorrect, or damaged items so replacements can be arranged.
• Work with the building contractor or site representative on civil work requirements and coordinate installation timing with other ongoing activities.
• Verify that the lift shaft is vertically aligned before installation begins.
• Examine shafts, door openings, and pits for escalators against the approved shop drawings.
• Install machine room equipment in line with the shop drawings.
• Fit hoistway, pit, hall equipment, rails, and doors as specified in the shop drawings.
• Submit the installation checklist to the Team Lead - Installations once all installation steps are completed.
• Clear debris from the pit after installation work.
• Control site access according to Otis safety standards.
• Prevent unauthorized access to the machine room.
• Escalate site, product, or operational issues to the Team Lead - Installations.
• Set annual performance goals with the reporting manager and work toward achieving them through the year.
• Identify personal training and development needs with the reporting manager so the necessary learning can be arranged and completed.
• Work to build strong proficiency in all competencies and skills needed for the role.
• Stay updated on professional developments, new methods, and current industry topics through ongoing learning and professional growth.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in installation operations within the vertical transportation industry.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in roles with increasing responsibility.
• Ability to communicate basic information in routine situations to people familiar with the subject.
• This is primarily a field-based role performed outside the office.
