About the Company

Role Overview
The Energy Trader will join a high-performing team managing trading activities throughout the NEM. The position entails crafting and implementing strategic trading plans, boosting portfolio efficiency, and ensuring adherence to market regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement short- and medium-term trading plans within the NEM framework.
- Continuously analyze market conditions, price fluctuations, and regulatory updates to discover trading prospects.
- Maximize renewable energy asset output by employing well-planned bidding and dispatch methods.
- Work collaboratively with forecasting, operations, and risk management departments to synchronize trading choices with portfolio goals.
- Keep detailed trade records and comply strictly with market regulations and company policies.
- Deliver comprehensive reports and insights related to trading outcomes and market trends.
Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in energy trading within the Australian National Electricity Market (mandatory).
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy markets and asset optimization.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the skill to interpret sophisticated market datasets.
- Familiarity with trading platforms and tools; advanced proficiency in Excel and/or programming languages such as Python or R is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills and ability to engage with various stakeholders.
- Capacity to perform efficiently in a fast-moving, high-stress environment.
